About

band-clubhouse

Mishy is an alt rock band based out of San Diego, California. Chris (vocals/sax) and Lawrence (drums/vocals), friends from their college days in the UCSD Pepband, reunited in 2022 with a simple idea: "Let's make some music together." And joined by Mike Reyes (guitar/vocals) and Mike Vargo (bass), that's exactly what they did, with their debut album releasing in October 2025.

Mike Vargo

Mike Vargo

Bass

Mike started playing the piano but left it for baseball. He played saxophone next but left that when he discovered the guitar. Then one day he played the bass at an impromptu jazz gig with his piano playing friend Kevin. In way over his head and just making it up, he realized that the bass fit him best. He got an upright (Ella) and a Fender Jazz (Debbie) and lives in the basement now.

“If it can groove, I want to play it. I like a puzzle every so often, but what I really want is to feel the music and get lost in the vibe.”
